The famous open source word processor utility OpenOffice now offer it users a new version to download. Recently the company launched its OpenOffice 3 Beta 1. The new software is available to download now and will be available as full version in may be around Sep-Oct 2008.
OpenOffice is the replacement for Microsoft Office and other word processor tasks. Like composing to editing to spreadsheets and excel etc.
Some of the new features which are introduced in the new version are Microsoft Office 2007 Import Filters, Chart Enhancements, Spreadsheets Collaboration, New and improved Note and Writer features, The brand new Start Centre for all the components and a fresh new look.
The new beta version of the OpenOffice is now also available for Mac users as the new software provide support for Mac OS X without the need of X11. The support for the daily popularity gaining OS Mac, is sure a good effort to expand OpenOffice reach.
