Nokia Sales up by 26 Percent but Disappoints

Nokia LogoThe world leader in mobile handsets manufacturing Nokia sales are reported up by 26 percent. On Thursday Nokia reported a growth in revenue and net income of 1.26 Billion Euros. Its sure means that’s Nokia new offerings Nokia N series and E series is definitely doing well for the company. The best market for the company is still Asia and company fears that due to slowness in Dollar its USA sale can come down.

Nokia sold around 115.5 million phones in the first quarter and gather 38% of all mobile handset industry but the company still fears by decline in reports against its expectations. The main cause for this down in sales as expected can be of Nokia attempts to cut down costs of handsets in many developing countries where mobile growth needs low cost handsets. Nokia is selling less then $50 priced handsets there.
The average selling price of Nokia mobiles fell to 79 euros from 83 euros sequentially, and dropped from 89 euros a year earlier on increased sales in emerging markets Nokia has said. Nokia fell 2.01 euros to 18.95 euros at 2:57 p.m. in Helsinki. Before today, the stock had lost around 21 percent this year, valuing Nokia at 79.6 billion euros.

May be future comes with good news for Nokia. The newest offerings from Nokia are N78, N96, Nokia 3110, N82 and E51.
