To serve relevant ads that have more possibility to be clicked or seen by you, the new advertising company Phorm has developed a system that will trace all your internet activity by locating you not only by your IP but your unique computer system address.
Internet advertising is a big industry and when Google, Yahoo!, MSN and all other major companies are present there, than why it shouldn’t be? The adverting technology is getting more advanced day by day. The new tech traces you to check if you are doing fraud to its ads by over clicking or false impression. But what happen when the tracing system traces your activity on the whole internet to just bring ads to you that have more chance that you will click or see?
Phorm not only traces your IP that you can change by turning off and on your router or connection or by static IP connection, it identifies you with your desktop or laptop unique system ID. They will trace what you do, when you do and how you do things on the net. If you go to a site based on banks, loans, financial report, shares or etc, they can treat you as finance interested customer and will bring relevant ads to your computer screens. They can tie up with big advertising giants to bring your data to them so they can show what interest you.
Phorm’s this new technology is really hacked all the privacy we ever had on internet. This new service got functional from last week in UK and they have plans to launch it world wide. Who will stop them when all are ready to partner with them?
Phorm says that they will provide an option to turn of your tracing and that they also change your IP or Computer System number to a unique their ID so your privacy will not be leaked and you will remain only an ID! May be they are right, but a bad thing is more bad when people know about it. May be we just got traced!
