Western Digital has unveiled it new updated series of HDD VelociRaptor which is the fastest Hard Disk Drive ever. The VelociRaptor series will be more reliable, fast, smallest in form factor and big in performance then any other series of HDD from the company.
The brand new HDD will come in a 2.5 Inch form factor which helps in gaining fast access time and minimising heat. This new technology is developed in a way that it can become option for normal hard disk drives not only to the high but the low end market too. So soon the normal user will be able to use the fastest HDD and not have to spend a fortune on this. This new VelociRaptor HDD will be available from size of 300 GB and above with the super fast speed of 10,000 RPM. This HDD will support SATA but not the new and better SAS interface because that would increase the production cost.
The HDD will be available from next Month with estimated street price of $280 to $320 and on a gmaing PC from this month last.
