Go Green through Technolgy

As you have understood a bit from the post title, we are here to talk about the World Earth Day 2008. Earth environment is changing quickly and all we talk about in this scenario is about ozone and global warming. Do you ever thought how you can go green by tech? Of course you can and I will tell you about some innovative ways here.

First: Don’t just mail, Email it!
Yeah, it not a new thing I am talking about but it is one of the important steps you can take to save mother Earth. Daily thousand of trees are cut down for the need of paper which is also used in mailing and postage. When we have a way why don’t use it, of course many of us use already. Next time you send a paper mail, opt for sending an email to that person or inquire about his/her email address and if he/she doesn’t have one, tell how easy is to get a free email address now in seconds.

Second: Fuel Cells is here for Gadgets
The research is going on for years and the results have come. The Fuel Cell is not a future product anymore, it is here. Fuel Cell can power your mobiles, iPods, and other electronic gadgets. Recently MTI MicroFuel cells are displayed and they are planning to launch it soon. These types of cells will use methanol and you can easily fill them back if they dry up.

Third: Use more better then the paper, Epaper and Eink
Epaper is a new way to say goodbye to traditional paper that cost green trees and Eink will sure do more help. Epaper and Eink have very low battery consumption and is pretty thin and cool looking option that is quite more readable then the normal laptop displays. Papyrus is another innovation in Eink and Epaper in which it will use WiFi and educational data to display on the Eink papers in a campus to students and will easily help in learning in a brand new way.

Fourth: Run your Laptop on Solar power
Solar Power is every where; we use it in boiling water in our home to production of energy in power plants. The time has come when we use it to run laptops and desktops as well as other things. Prototypes are tested for this task and results are quite good. Solar panel will be a third flap in laptops which will get solar power and will supply converted electricity to the unit. It may be look odd today but future will be different compared to today.

Fifth: Drive often but drive an Eco car
Every big automobile company is developing its own eco car that will run alone on electric power or as a hybrid. Some models are available in the market and many more are coming soon. The costs of the hybrid version of the famous cars are a bit high then the normal gasoline version but in long term and environment prospective it’s nothing. As soon as this technology will become common the cost will also come down.

These are some of the new and innovative ways to go green, yet there are many more. Some of them are free some cost money, it’s how we use and implant these steps in our daily life. And if you just want a quick change why don’t change your old light bulb iwith a new energy saver CFL?
