Collection of Winter Fun Games for Children
Winter might be a chilly time of year, but it lends itself to fun. Not only are there snowballs to throw and snowmen to build, but a variety of games are available which add to the enjoyment of this time of year. Some of these are video games based around winter themes, playable online through a user’s web browser. Others are physical games which will take you outside into your backyard or a nearby park.
Winter Fun Dress Up Games
This online title is a variant on the
dress up games
which are a common sight across the Internet as well as Dressup24h.com. The player is presented with a cartoon model and an array of clothing options, with which she can equip her subject by clicking on each clothing item and dragging it across to the model. In this particular game, the wardrobe is themed around winter clothing, with warm jackets, mittens and snug hats all available. The player can click the Tips button on-screen for hints on how to dress the model.
Snowball Contest
You’ll need to set up a bull’s eye target on the ground before you can play this snowball throwing contest. Start by arranging a circle in the snow using your boots, and then utilize food coloring in bottles to draft two, increasingly larger, rings around the central circle, as suggested by the Disney Family Fun website. You’ll then need to assign a points system to the target, with each section being worth a different amount; 10, 25 and 50 points, for instance. Each player is given a bucket of snowballs and takes it in turns to chuck one of these at the target from a reasonable distance away. Assign one player to take a record of the points scored by each player each round; the game ends when one participant reaches a pre-determined number of points.
Polar Pogo
This online game is playable for free, but requires an up-to-date version of Flash software to be downloaded if the user doesn’t already have it. The aim of the game is to get your polar bear character, Pekko, across a level consisting of a series of icebergs, without him falling into the icy water. Clicking the mouse allows Pekko to jump, while holding down the button adds power to the leap. You can use the directional arrow on-screen to select where Pekko will jump. As the game proceeds, you’ll have less time to jump as the icebergs will melt faster.
Snowman Hat Trick
The chances are that you and your friends or family will be in a rush to make a snowman as soon as possible. Before you place the snowman’s hat on his head though, you can create a game by challenging your companions to throw the hat from around 10 feet away, with the idea being to land the garment on the snowman’s head securely. To increase the game difficulty, stand further away from the snowman.
